Seattle Orcas have added Australian fast bowler Jason Behrendorff to their roster ahead of the 2026 Major League Cricket season, strengthening their pace unit with an experienced left-arm option.
Behrendorff has built a reputation as a reliable performer in T20 cricket, claiming more than 200 wickets in the format, at an economy of only 7.66. The 35-year-old’s effectiveness has been driven by consistency with the ball, particularly in maintaining tight lines and extracting movement in helpful conditions.
Operating as a left-arm seamer, Behrendorff offers a different angle of attack that can challenge batters, especially in the early overs. His ability to generate swing with the new ball has made him a regular option in the Powerplay, where early breakthroughs can shape the course of a match.
Beyond the opening overs, he has experience across all phases of a T20 innings. Behrendorff has been used in middle and death overs, relying on changes in pace and subtle variations rather than outright speed. His control and discipline have allowed him to limit scoring opportunities while remaining a wicket-taking threat.
He has represented Australia in limited-overs cricket and has featured in major T20 competitions, including the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Big Bash League (BBL). His exposure to different conditions and roles provides Seattle with a bowler capable of adapting to varied match situations.
The addition of Behrendorff gives the Seattle Orcas greater balance within their bowling group, particularly with a left-arm pace option complementing the existing attack. His experience and skillset are expected to contribute to a more structured bowling approach as the team continues assembling its squad for the 2026 season.
