PARTNERSHIP FRAMEWORK
Dear Pod Squad,
We're only weeks away from the fourth action-packed Major League Cricket season! Thanks to your support we are growing fast.
New partners reach out to the Seattle Orcas every week - brands, clubs, schools, vendors, sponsors, government bodies and cricket academies. Great interest in the team is a good problem.
The harder problem is treating everyone fairly, being clear about what we can and cannot offer, and making sure the answer to "what does partnering look like?" is the same no matter who is inquiring or which Seattle Orca they are asking.
Our goal is simple: create transparent, trustful partnerships where the Seattle Orcas and our partners grow and prosper together. To reach that goal, here is our Partnership Framework, in public, in plain language.
Partnership Framework
There are three doors in: Products, Programs, and Events.
Products are the assets we build and own. The team. The tournaments we manage and play in. The future Cricket Community Park. Our website, social channels and upcoming mobile app. Products carry multiple brands - the Seattle Orcas and our various sponsors under agreement. Sponsoring the Seattle Orcas is the one way to get your logo on our social and digital channels, a kit, or our future Cricket Community Park.
These opportunities provide premium visibility while aligning brands with the Pacific Northwest's Major League Cricket team and one of the fastest-growing games in the United States. We welcome organizations interested in growing alongside cricket's rise in America.
Programs come in two flavors: the ones we run, and the ones partners run.
Programs created by the team, such as the recently launched Boundary Builders, have a structure and a management cadence that we lead. As we advance cricket across the Pacific Northwest and throughout the United States we'll announce other initiatives, both local and national.
We invite partners and sponsors to participate under program-specific terms. Each participation rests on a defined value exchange, and every participating sponsor and partner gets their brand featured. For local programs, Minor League Cricket teams in our catchment area can also be featured, with specifics worked out case by case.
Programs that partners run are different. When a partner invites us in, we evaluate the fit, the audience, and the values. Partners can use the Seattle Orcas brand to the extent spelled out in a written participation agreement.
We're grateful for the immense interest from local partners in our catchment area. Strong local participation builds stronger player pathways, coaching development, infrastructure investment, and long-term sustainability for the sport.
Events sit closer to Programs than to Products and we're dedicated to delivering unique experiences that engage communities and celebrate the game.
Sponsors will be featured.
Non-sponsor partners - Minor League Cricket Teams from our catchment area, clubs, academies, civic groups - can be highlighted based on what they bring to the event.
In 2024, we brought the International Cricket Council Men's T20 World Cup trophy to Seattle, attracting more than 3,000 fans and generating waves of online attention.
These events create memorable experiences while offering partners meaningful brand promotion opportunities. Moving forward we'll continue to host electrifying events, locally and nationally.
Advancing The Game Together
Thank you for your partnership in growing the game and living up to our responsibility as America's Favorite Cricket Team. To make sure we're upholding our commitment, we'll stick to the following best practices as we collaborate with you.
- The first is that the same answer travels with anyone you talk to at the Seattle Orcas.
- The second is that the entry point usually picks itself. If you want logo placement on the team kit, you are talking about Products. If you want to run cricket clinics at Title I schools, that is a Program. If you want to host a panel during finals weekend, that is an Event.
- The third - and most important - is that our commitments and your benefits are written down. The terms document for each program and event is how we keep the framework honest and how we fulfill our commitment to you
Thank you for taking the time to dive into the Partnership Framework and for sharing our devotion to building community, spreading the love of cricket and winning on and off the field. This franchise, your extraordinary team, cricket's limitless future, it is all only possible because of you.
If you have questions about the Partnership Framework please email admin@seattleorcas.com.
Sincerely,
Sean Cary
