Seattle Orcas Announce Adam Voges as Head Coach for the 2026 MLC Season
Former Australian international and championship-winning coach to lead Seattle’s next chapter
Seattle, WA — The Seattle Orcas today announced the appointment of Adam Voges, former Australian international and highly respected coach, as the team’s new Head Coach for the 2026 Major League Cricket (MLC) season.
Voges brings one of the most well-rounded pedigrees in modern cricket to Seattle, combining an exceptional playing career with a proven track record of coaching success.
A Distinguished Career on the Field
Adam Voges represented Australia across all formats, earning recognition as one of the most technically sound and composed batters of his generation. He holds one of the best Test batting averages in cricket history and delivered standout performances throughout his international tenure. His domestic career was equally impressive, serving as a pillar for Western Australia and multiple T20 franchises around the world.
Proven Success as a Coach
Following retirement, Voges transitioned into coaching, where he quickly established himself as a leader capable of building championship-winning cultures. Under his guidance, the Perth Scorchers secured multiple Big Bash League titles, and Western Australia achieved dominance in domestic competitions across formats. Known for his calm leadership style, strategic clarity, and strong player development ethos, Voges is widely regarded as one of Australia’s premier modern coaches. The Australian has also been touted previously as a future Australian head coach and has previously worked under Langer as an assistant with Indian Premier League side Lucknow Super Giants.
Voges on joining the Seattle Orcas, "I am very excited to be joining the Seattle Orcas for the upcoming season. The MLC competition continues to grow, and I look forward to working with the owners, players, and staff to help bring success both on and off the field."
A Strategic Appointment for Seattle
Seattle Orcas leadership emphasized that Voges’ appointment reflects the club’s ambition to elevate its competitive and cultural foundations heading into the 2026 season.
“We are thrilled to welcome Adam Voges to the Seattle Orcas family.” said Seattle Orcas CEO, Hemant Dua. “He brings a proven pedigree of winning, a distinctive ability to develop world-class talent, and a deep understanding of the nuances of T20 franchise cricket.
His dominant run with Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers speaks to his expertise. We believe Adam’s calm demeanor, tactical intelligence, and commitment to building a high-performance culture will be pivotal as we aim for the Major League Cricket title. We are building something special in Seattle, and Adam is undoubtedly the right person to lead the charge.”
Looking Ahead to 2026
Voges’ arrival comes at a pivotal time for both the Seattle Orcas and Major League Cricket, as the league continues its rapid growth and global recognition. With Voges at the helm, Seattle aims to strengthen its roster, expand player development pathways, and pursue an MLC title with renewed focus.
