Seattle Orcas have signed New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert ahead of the 2026 Major League Cricket season, adding an experienced T20 player to their roster.
Seifert has played more than 300 T20 matches, scoring over 7,000 runs at a strike rate above 135. A regular in New Zealand’s T20 setup, he is known for his aggressive approach and ability to score quickly at the top of the order.
A right-handed batter, Seifert’s strength lies in his intent during the Powerplay, where he looks to put pressure on opposing bowlers early in the innings. His ability to take on pace and spin, along with his range of attacking shots, makes him an effective option in setting the tone for the batting lineup.
In addition to his batting, Seifert provides value as a wicketkeeper, offering reliability behind the stumps and adding balance to team selection. His dual skillset gives Seattle added flexibility in constructing their XI, allowing for different combinations depending on match conditions.
Seifert has competed in several franchise leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League, Big Bash League and Caribbean Premier League, and has previously featured in Major League Cricket. His experience across conditions and competitions is expected to contribute to the team’s adaptability over the course of the season.
The signing strengthens Seattle’s top order while adding depth and versatility to the squad. Seifert’s ability to provide quick starts, combined with his wicketkeeping role, positions him as a key contributor as the team continues to build a competitive roster for the 2026 season.
