OAKLAND, Calif. — The Seattle Orcas will begin the California leg of their 2026 Major League Cricket campaign with back-to-back contests against the Washington Freedom and San Francisco Unicorns at the Oakland Coliseum.

Seattle first takes on Washington at 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday before returning to the field at the same time on Friday for its first meeting of the season with San Francisco.

The Orcas arrive in Oakland encouraged by the progress shown during the opening stretch of the season in Dallas. Seattle opened the campaign with a high-scoring performance against Texas Super Kings before recording an impressive five-wicket victory over its next opponent, Washington Freedom, chasing down 217 in one of the standout results of the tournament so far.

That victory will provide confidence heading into Thursday's rematch. Seattle's batting lineup has been among the most productive in Major League Cricket through the opening three matches. Tim Seifert set the tone with a century in the season opener before following it up with a match-defining 78 against Washington. Shayan Jahangir has also made a strong start to the campaign, while Matthew Breetzke announced himself in style with a fluent half-century against the Freedom.

The bowling attack has continued to develop with each outing. Ottniel Baartman and Jasdeep Singh impressed in Seattle's most recent match with three wickets apiece, while Dasun Shanaka has delivered important breakthroughs throughout the early stages of the season. Contributions across all departments have helped the Orcas remain competitive throughout the opening three matches, with Seattle showing the ability to challenge every opponent it has faced so far.

With a balanced squad, growing confidence and several players finding form, Seattle heads to Oakland eager to build momentum. The upcoming clashes present another opportunity for the Seattle Orcas to strengthen their position in the standings and showcase the aggressive, team-focused brand of cricket that has already produced several memorable moments this season.
