The Seattle Orcas are staring down a critical turning point in their 2025 Major League Cricket campaign as they kick off the return leg of the season in Dallas. With five losses from five matches, every game from here on out is a must-win—starting with a high-stakes Friday night showdown against MI New York.
While the results haven’t gone their way so far, Seattle has the talent, and has shown flashes of potential throughout the season. In their most recent outing against the unbeaten San Francisco Unicorns, opener Shayan Jahangir continued to impress with a blistering 40 off just 22 balls. He’ll be looking to convert those starts into a bigger score this time, ideally with strong support from experienced powerhouses like Heinrich Klaasen, Shimron Hetmyer, and David Warner.
On the bowling side, Harmeet Singh has been the standout performer, leading the team’s wicket charts with consistency and impact. Fast bowler Gerald Coetzee also turned in a solid performance last game, and the team will be counting on this dynamic duo once again. With the pitch in Dallas offering some turn & hold, it remains to be seen whether the Seattle Orcas will strengthen their spin attack for this one.
The last time these two teams met, MI New York emerged victorious thanks to a superb 93 from Monank Patel. Now, with redemption in sight, Seattle will be looking to even the score and register their first win of the season.
With the second half of the season underway and playoff hopes hanging by a thread, the side from the Pacific Northwest will need a complete, all-around performance to turn the tide and build momentum at just the right time.
