Seattle Orcas are delighted to welcome South African speedster, Nandre Burger, to our squad for Major League Cricket Season 2. Burger is a fiery left-arm pacer, who troubles the batters with his ability to swing the ball at pace. Also standing at 1.88 m tall, Burger generates extra bounce and has a plethora of variations at his disposal.

Burger’s entry into cricket was anything but planned. With a keen interest in excelling in academics, Burger gave a crack at cricket only because it paved a path for his psychology major. Burger also excelled in other sports in his teenage years, taking a liking to tennis and squash.

Burger has plied his trade for notable teams such as Gauteng, Rajasthan Royals, Joburg Super Kings and is a full-fledged member of the South African national team across formats.

Having played 61 T20 matches so far, Burger has already scalped 72 wickets at an impressive average of 21.54 & a strike rate of 17.2. Neither is he easy to get away as proven by his economy of 7.47 suggests. Burger’s best figures are 3 for 11. His form in the ongoing Indian Premier League T20 tournament has further cemented his status as one of the fastest rising bowling superstars in world cricket.

Burger has also featured in 6 international games for South Africa, picking 17 wickets in total.
